Sigma phi epsilon trans1/20/2024 ![]() Through SigEp, men strengthen their character, build leadership and interpersonal skills, and learn to develop healthy, lifelong. We complement a man’s education by delivering a premier student experience in one of the most formative times of his life. In the Fall 2021 semester, the brothers had the highest GPA of all fraternities and sororities on Monmouth's campus. SigEp is redefining fraternity on college campuses across the country. We are also successful in the fields of academics and service. SigEp's are known to be fun-loving and caring to all Monmouth students. On campus, the brothers play a large role in several areas, including band, choir, theater, art, track, first-year orientation, and much more. IL-Gamma resides in the building formerly known as Ross House, one of the college's apartment buildings in Founders Village located behind Austin Hall. ![]() Ruck Leadership Award from Nationals, and our advisor, Steve Distin, received the 2022 Outstanding Greek Advisor Award from Monmouth College. Our President, Elijah Lind '23, received the 2022 Frank J. To date, our chapter has been awarded the 5th highest number of Buchanan Cups among all SigEp chapters. We were the 84th SigEp chapter to be chartered, and the third one in Illinois. The IL-Gamma chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded at Monmouth College on May 22, 1948. We strive to maintain the ideals of sound mind and sound body. We focus on living up to SigEp's cardinal principles of virtue, diligence, and brotherly love. The history of the Fraternity reflects the times. The story of its founding by 12 determined men set the stage for the growth and success of one of the country’s premier fraternal organizations. This sense of brotherhood is continued after graduation with alumni often returning to campus for keynote presentations, dinners, and chapter meetings.At Illinois Gamma, we are a fun-loving, close knit chapter with a penchant for building balanced men. Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded in 1901 on the campus of Richmond College (now called the University of Richmond) in Richmond, Va. Through the Sigma, Phi, Epsilon, and Brother Mentor challenges, we build on member development and strengthening ties within our chapter. We have an impressive and ever-developing network outside of college that keeps alumni in touch with each other as well as the newest members back in Chestnut Hill. Once you accept your bid to SigEp Massachusetts Iota, you become one with all those who have done so since our chapter's founding in 2009. ![]() We have no pledge system, and avoid all unwanted public attention through composed chapter behavior and respect for Boston College's policies. We do not embody the average college "frat," we instead uphold ourselves to be a fraternity of virtue, diligence, and brotherly love. Therefore, we are tasked with being professional and strict in following the bylaws of our chapter, as well as the basic structure of our national fraternity. Being a brother of SigEp Massachusetts Iota comes with restrictions, as we are not affiliated with Boston College, and do not have an official chapter house. With the organization of charity events, conversations and presentations with local alumni, and forming personal bonds for life, our brothers graduate as leaders in their fields, well-groomed for their futures ahead. Whether it be delivering a presentation, leading a service trip, or taking someone out for lunch, we strive to develop younger brothers into well-spoken, determined gentlemen. Despite our brother mentorship programs, we ensure that one maintains that sense of personalism throughout their four years in our fraternity. The Sigma Phi Society () was founded on March 4, 1827, on the campus of Union College as a part of the Union Triad in Schenectady, New York.Its founders were Samuel W. Each man in our chapter brings different skills and talents to the table, and we appreciate and respect that individuality. As a small chapter, we get to know each and every brother very well. We work to make each other better, and likewise hold ourselves accountable for another's actions. "Men and women for others" is a common term thrown around on our campus, but we take that to heart.
